About the Artist and Environmental Scientist

As an artist and Environmental scientist, I want my original art to impact my community by inspiring environmental awareness to the Pacific Northwest, bringing people together and encouraging more art and science. The Pacific Northwest is a wonderfully diverse region, from ocean beaches to mountain tops. My paintings encompass the color, beauty and significance of the Pacific Northwest creating a new way for the viewer to experience the landscape.
My artist style is contemporary impressionism. I use loose expressive brush strokes, a visible colored underpainting, and a fascination with the play of light to create landscape paintings. The paintings are mixed media, with a visible acrylic underpainting overlaid with oil paint.
My art has the power to tell a community shared story of the Pacific Northwest, create environmental awareness, and bring people together.
